Church of St Margaret of Antioch

St Margaret's, with its tall, elegant spire, is considered a key landmark for miles around the Ouse Valley. This treasured Grade I listed building is a focal point for the village forming a key part of its identity. The church provides a venue for weekly services, as well as concerts and events. In 2014 it hosted a theatre production and historical display to commemorate World War I. The village is committed to conserving the church for future generations to use and enjoy.

Friends of St Margaret's
The Friends of St Margaret's is a registered charity (1104625) dedicated to the conservation and repair of the church building and its grounds.

The charity is at the heart of the Flower Festival, linking fund-raising for this historic building with its regular use for worship and special occasions.

The 5 trustees of the Friends of St Margaret's form a grant-giving body that assigns funds from the Flower Festivals to much needed projects in collaboration with the Parochial Church Council. Funds from previous Flower Festivals have contributed to the installation of the new kitchen, toilet and central heating. Projects planned for 2015 include repair and replacement of floor tiles and improvement of wheelchair access.
