Welcome to the Hemingford Abbots Flower Festival website.
The 2015 Hemingford Abbots Flower Festival held in June was an event enjoyed by residents, volunteers and visitors from near and far. A rain shower on the Sunday morning threatened to cause some minor disruption but by early afternoon the rain clouds had passed over and warm sunshine returned.
25 gardens were open to visitors with many offering attractions such as music, arts and craft demonstrations, historic car, motorcycle and bicycle displays, boat trips and much more. Several gardens offered a welcome opportunity to sit and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and delicious slice of home made cake or scone.
The church, which was decorated with stunning floral displays, hosted a musical concert on the Saturday evening followed by a short service of Compline sung by men’s voices in plainsong. A Festival Choral Evensong on Sunday evening was a fitting end to a truly memorable weekend.
Please take a moment to look at the selection of photographs captured during this year's Festival.
The Flower Festival is a non-commercial event, run by the village. All proceeds go towards the conservation and repair of the village church – St Margaret of Antioch.
Our next Flower Festival will be held on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June 2017 – further details to follow.
